Mail from Shimizu to Jay

Hi, Jay.

Thanks for your friendly and interesting mail to us.

Ah yeah indeed, you majored in CS, Computer Science.
I envy you~~~
If I went to university again, I would choose CS, too!
Actually my major was Japanese traditional literature... haha, though I enjoyed it.

Ah you feel confortable with both worlds, CS and business.
Yeah I remember you said you wanted to get MBA, it that right?

Oh your company is gradually growing... great...
And you're still web service!
Ah~~~, yeah, I'm also interested in that.
But but, I started the business of my web service.
http://www.tokyovalley.com/yahoo_blog/
(Japanese language)
I get 121,372 hits in January and the profit was about 80,000 yen (=$700 USD?).
And then the profit is getting down gradually...
It might be difficult to earn money with web service because there are so many many
competitors in the world on the internet.
Everyone can access to everywhere on the net.
In the real world, it difficult for big companies to get into small market like the countryside, though.

Moreover, on the internet people don't like to pay money compared to the real world,
because you can't touch your product.

I want to getting to web service but I hesitate to do.
So, do you think the market of webservice is still positive, opposite of me?
If yes, what do you think about the market of web service and the tendency of
people who don't want to pay on the net?

I'm glad you're interested in this group.
Yeah I also think it would be exciting if some project happened here!

Regards,
Hiroyuki Shimizu
