Hi Vince,
Ahaha, yeah I thought you might be interested in this topic!
Gradually I'm getting close to your field!
Ohhh, you also read the book already, before I did!
Ohhh so nice.
The book is very interesting and exciting, isn't it?
Ah I didn't know the book was quite famous in the US.
Oh yeah, franchise style is a good model, it says.
>It shows how intuitive common sense thinking can turn a simple idea into a very profitable business model!
Oh, really? I don't read that part but I think I can reach it as reading it.
>I wanted to ask you a few questions - how did you determine your sales price? Also, what are the sales units? What exactly is your product or service that you are selling?
Ah, about the sales units:
My working hour is unit.
I sell my time as an IT engineer.
I make working time sheet when I work for my clients, like setting up servers, designing a website,
making a computer programme and so on.
I report the working time to the clients and get money according to the bill I make.
About price:
Unit (an hour I work) is $20NZD (=15USD?, =1800 yen).
But thinking about the time when I don't get paid, my real wage is lower than amount claimed ($20).
When I used to work in Tokyo, my wage was 1750 yen without transportation fee.
I don't get paid when I do advertising, meeting before getting an order from my clients,
making bills, and so forth.
About what I sell:
PC troubleshooting. EX.) A client bought a new router, tried to set it up at home, but didn't
know how to, so rang me and I go by bicycle to there and solve the problem.
Website creating. EX.) A footwear shop in town wanted to have an online shop to sell shoes and
ordered me. I had the owner to make contract with the companies to get the domain and the
web-hosting-service, set up online shop software, that's existing open-source.
Technical assistance to create a website. EX.) An artist can draw a picture on her PC but
doesn't know technical part like HTML and getting domain and web-hosting-service. I taught
how to and did it with her.
Do you see what I mean?
I checked the website you introduced to me.
http://www.entrepreneur. com/video/index.html
I really enjoyed the videos here!
Maybe I watched 40 videos about technology there.
I want to watch more, but I can't find past archives...
Ahaha now I used the break-even calculator there
but it wasn't as good as the Excel template I used.
Or is what you used on the website different from what I used there?
Regards,
Hiroyuki Shimizu
